Non-Alignment, a Step Towards the Rising Multipolar World of Win-Win Cooperation

Multipolarity is the main trend in the world today.

Part of this emerging win-win paradigm includes many prominent states embracing a geopolitical position of “non-alignment.”

While there is increasingly a new Cold War framework pushed in the West towards a rising China, many prominent states simply reject this binary and at the very least are open to working with both America and China, as well as not being exclusive to either camp.

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), originally seen as a fixture of the previous Cold War, is seeing a spiritual revival of its principles today by many states and emerging polarities.

Formed in 1961 and building off of the 1955 Bandung Afro-Asian Conference, the NAM comprised of various states predominately in the Global South during the Post-WWII wave of decolonization who chose to abstain from exclusively being part of either the Western camp (USA) or the Eastern camp (USSR). Prominent figures in the NAM included Josip Broz Tito of Yugoslavia, Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, Jawaharlal Nehru of India, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, and Sukarno of Indonesia.

As events played out, due to unyielding drive for a unipolar hegemony of the American Empire, many non-aligned states de-facto ended up having more positive strategic relations with the Eastern Bloc who were more respectful of their sovereignty. We see similar trends today with China having that same position of mutual respect and seeking win-win cooperation.

After many decades “non-alignment” has re-entered the political lexicon and is being taken very seriously in the emerging multipolar world.

The shift of Saudi Arabia, a long-time American ally in the region, doing greater business with China, is a prominent example of this phenomena in recent years. Inversely, the second most populous country in the world, India, has more recently moved to have closer ties with the America, but they are not going to server their historic ties with Russia in that process, something America has come to accept in the hopes of having an ally in the region next to China. Brazil, the largest and most populous country in Latin America, has relations presently with both America and China, a foreign policy maintained under both Bolsonaro and Lula, showing that “non-alignment” is surpassing even their domestic political left-wing and right-wing. Even many legacy media outlets in the West are acknowledging this reality of the “non-aligned” position, conceding that they are better off accepting this as they cannot force others states to simply cut off relations with China or Russia, especially when working with major geopolitical players that constitute regional powers.

As Republicans we advocate the same path for a Canada.

We understand even as anti-imperialists that cutting off all relations with America is simply infeasible, they are our neighbors and our quarrel is not with the American populace, but with the Cabal of Global Finance based on Wall Street and Bay Street that is holding both lands hostage, and we should strive to have positive relations between our productive classes who just want a good life for their families and communities.

While it would be ideal for the government(s) in what’s now America to all of the sudden become anti-imperialist, we are not idealists, that is the struggle of their population, so even if we reach our own goals here first, trade with America as it stands would continue to happen. That said, we must remain steadfast in our foreign policy that for macro-level great power geopolitical conflicts we should seek a path of “non-alignment.”

However, as it stands, we are unable to chart our own course for sovereign foreign policy. Canada is a subordinate Dominion under the British Crown, a front for the Cabal of Global Finance, with its Northern Outpost on Bay Street. Canada has never been a truly independent entity, representative of all the people living on these beautiful lands, despite more superficial claims of a Progressive “multi-culturalism” that ring empty when push comes to shove in terms of colonial and imperialist policy.

In the past, Canada has been lauded for “peace-keeping,” but the reality is that Canada has played the role as rear-guard for American Imperialism. We must break with this relationship to end Canada’s submissive mentality and instead start taking leadership in the humble role we can play on the world stage as a middle power. Republicanism is a prerequisite for even the bare minimum of political neutrality needed for us to truly be a committed to being an arbiter for peace.

The case for Republicanism offers a chance to truly step into a genuine peace maker role, breaking from the parasitism of the Cabal of Global Finance which is the instigator of all wars against humanity.
