Cuba Could Be Next on the Chopping Block

The United States of America helmed by the Trump Administration has officially indicted the former Cuban President Raul Castro.

Cuba had become an independent country with the revolution lead by Raul’s brother, Fidel Castro, in 1959. The Cuban Revolution was famous for being the first time a free people broke the shackles of American neo-colonialism in the Caribbean. This inspired countless revolutionary groups across Latin America and the world. As a result, Cuba is a thorn in the side of American hegemony in this hemisphere. For decades, the imperialist vultures in Washington have sought to topple the socialist government in Cuba.

Following the Trump Administration's extradition of Nicolas Maduro at the start of this year, and the subsequent political neutralization of Venezuela as an anti-imperialist resistance state, it seems that Cuba could be next on the chopping block with this inditement of President Castro.

John Bolton, who was the National Security Advisor to American President George Bush Jr. infamously branded Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba as the “Troika” of resistance in the American hemisphere. Respectfully, both Cuba and Nicaragua are smaller countries, the Troika has been put in a much more vulnerable position without a bigger country like Venezuela who really was the heavy hitter when it came to bringing abundant natural resources and energy sovereignty for resisting American hegemony.

We will likely see an intensification of American imperialist aggression here, especially following recent rebuffs in other geopolitical theaters abroad, such as Eurasia and the Middle East, the consolidation of the Monroe Doctrine 2.0 — which we have also called “MAGA Imperium” and the “Donroe Doctrine” — is happening real time in the American hemisphere which includes Canada.

For the longest time many of us here felt certain that if we got our movement up to where it needed to be in Canada, then we could simply link up with the Troika to strengthen these anti-imperialist connections in our hemisphere.

However, these recent developments serve as an important reminder how these pillars of anti-imperialist resistance are not fixed and are subject to being knocked down if not consistently upheld. This is especially true when undermined from within, as was the case with the compradors in Venezuela.

This is critical for us to understand in Canada.

As Canadian Republicans, we declare our support the Republic of Cuba in resisting any upcoming advances from the imperialist vultures in Washington. We also affirm our support the Bolivarian revolution for the challenging road ahead in the restoration of their sovereignty stolen from them in Venezuela.

Viva La Troika! Viva La Revolution!
